I started obedience training at a young age with my beagle, Oly, not realizing I was using the best leather leash out there! Over time, the leather softens while staying incredibly durable—it lasts a lifetime. It’s tough yet gentle on your hands and makes corrections much easier.
I've been using Midwest Crates for over 25 years, and I love that they offer a two-door option. The divider panel is a game changer for potty training—it gives puppies just enough space to sleep and can be adjusted as they grow!
I use and support Purina Pro Plan Dry Dog Food, specifically the Sport Performance 30/20 mix for my adult dogs, and the puppy formula for the pups I’m raising. I’ve always been impressed with Purina’s quality, and their dry food formulas have been a huge success for me over the years.
Riley’s Pill Paste is my go-to for wrapping meds when giving my Labs their prescriptions. It’s a must-have for post-spay/neuter care since your puppy will need to take pain meds and antibiotics after surgery.
I absolutely love this ceramic bowl set with wooden holders! The dual bowls for food and water are perfect for saving space, and they look great in our home—especially when we have the girls inside for whelping!
This slow feeder by Outward Hound is perfect for teaching puppies to pace themselves while eating. When surrounded by other dogs, puppies can become fast eaters, which may lead to food aggression, and other health risks. To prevent this, I highly recommend slow feeders for pups that tend to eat too quickly. I even use them for a few of my adult dogs—they're great quality and built to last!
Ever since my first obedience class, I’ve relied on these German collars. Germany is known for its top-tier dog training and tools, and this chain is no exception. Made of stainless steel, these training collars are incredibly effective when used correctly—they can make all the difference in having a well-trained dog.
Nutrisentials Lean Treats and Training Treats are my go-to for training my Labs and giving them snacks! Since I practice reward-based training, I go through a lot of treats, so I love using these lower-calorie options to keep my dogs motivated while helping them stay in great shape.
The Kong Wubba toy is a must-have for me and my Labs during playtime! Labs are known for being aggressive chewers and need plenty of mental stimulation throughout the day. This toy is incredibly durable and built to last. My dogs absolutely love playing fetch with the Wubba toys!
Everyone who knows me knows how much I love kayaking—almost as much as I love Labradors! You’ll often find me at my in-laws’ or my son’s ponds with my dogs, or out exploring Lake Huron and Michigan’s many rivers whenever the weather allows. I swear by Ruffwear’s Float Coats—they’re highly visible, boost confidence in puppies and young dogs, and most importantly, keep my dogs safe and floating as they learn to swim and enjoy our outdoor adventures!
I love Ruffwear products—they're built to last! When my dogs aren’t in training, I prefer keeping them in flat collars. I always make sure they have a name tag with my contact info, along with their rabies vaccine and dog license tags.
