At Bad River Labradors, our mission is simple: to raise healthy, well-rounded English Labradors built for both purpose and companionship. We prioritize ethical breeding practices focused on health, temperament, and structure — producing dogs that thrive in the field, the show ring, or as beloved family members.
With over 20 years of veterinary experience, I bring professional care and expertise to every stage of our program. More importantly, Bad River Labradors is a true family effort—my husband and children help raise and socialize each litter, ensuring our puppies grow confident, well-adjusted, and comfortable in any setting.
Every breeding is carefully planned based on genetics and health certifications, including OFA hips, elbows, eyes, and cardiac testing. We aim to raise Labradors who are not only physically exceptional but also mentally balanced and eager to join their new families.
Whether you’re seeking a skilled working dog, a show-quality Lab, or a devoted companion, we’re here to match you with the perfect fit — and support you throughout the journey.
Bad River Labradors is truly a family affair, built on generations of love for the Labrador Retriever. My passion for this breed began with my father and grandfather, who instilled in me a deep appreciation for these loyal, intelligent dogs. For the past 35 years, I’ve dedicated myself to raising, training, and showing Labradors, and that love has become the heart of our family.
My husband and I have been married for 30 years, raising five wonderful children, all of whom grew up helping in the kennel. Our four daughters even participated in Junior Showmanship when they were younger, learning the dedication and skill that goes into working with dogs. Today, four of our children have Labs of their own, carrying on the tradition.
My husband plays a vital role in keeping Bad River Labradors running smoothly, making sure everything stays in top shape. Behind the scenes, our daughter Alicia keeps things organized, managing messages and emails to ensure every inquiry is answered with care. Our grandchildren are also a big part of our kennel, growing up alongside our pups and helping ensure they’re well-handled and socialized before heading to their furever homes.
Bad River Labradors is more than just a kennel—it’s a family legacy built on love, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to this incredible breed.
Bringing home a new puppy is a joyful milestone — but it can also come with challenges, especially for first-time Lab owners. At Bad River Labradors, we know the transition doesn’t end when you leave with your new companion — and we’re here to support you every step of the way.
To help you feel more confident and prepared, we’ve created a Resources Page featuring some of Amy’s favorite puppy care items and trusted essentials. From training tools to feeding must-haves, these carefully selected products are the same ones we rely on in our own home to raise happy, healthy Labradors. Whether you’re new to Labs or simply want to start off on the right paw, our resources are designed to help you create a smooth, loving transition for your newest family member.
